Science Tutoring

At The Progressive Centre, we will create a personalized program for your child, help them catch up and keep up with school curriculum, and set them up for success in the future. We offer specialized tutoring services for students in grades 1-12 that are taught by educated, experienced tutors. Our tutors work one-on-one with your child to develop strong science skills that build confidence, self-esteem and motivation to continue on a path of learning.

Ontario Curriculum

The Ontario Science curriculum at the elementary level is broken down into 4 main areas:

• Understanding Life Systems
• Understanding Structures and Mechanisms
• Understanding Matter and Energy
• Understanding Earth and Space Systems

In Grade 9 and 10, students receive a general overview of the following areas:

• Biology
• Physics
• Chemistry
• Earth and Space Science

In Grade 11 and 12, students select which course they would like to study more in depth. They can select from the following areas:

• Biology
• Chemistry
• Earth and Space Science
• Environmental Science
• Physics

Being familiar with the Ontario Science curriculum, our tutors can help your child get to their academic goals. Tutors will work with your child to develop the skills, strategies and habits of mind that are required for scientific inquiry.
